Pallet sizes will always play a major role in determining the sellback value of your used pallet supply, and the general rule here is that standard sizes like 48×40 and 48×45 will have higher sellback values as compared to custom sized pallets that are less useful for other businesses.

Pallets that are still in fairly okay shape can be repaired and sold again for reuse. This makes them worth a lot more to recycling companies than those that are in bad shape. Don't get discouraged, however, as these pallets can make you some extra money, too.

Here in the UK – and EU – of course pallets are metrically dimensioned, and come in standard sizes, measured in millimetres. Typically, these are 1200×800, 1200×1000 and for moulded wooden pallets can take between 350kg and 1250kg depending on their spec.

Lumber. Wooden pallets are a commodity made up of other commodities. This means that the price of pallets is the direct result of the materials manufacturers use to construct them. Since lumber is the most prevalent material in the assembly of wooden pallets, the cost of lumber significantly affects the overall price.
